Family trip 2 Langkawi Day 1

Went for a trip to the land of eagles recently. It was pretty last minute but since booking Avillion in Army town was such a bad experience we decided to cancel their ass and go the opposite. So ya, saw some decent prices on AirAsia Go Holiday thingy and just went for it. Lets see if i can do a decent photo heavy post to save me life! here goessss…..!!!!

1st thing we did once we touch down was rent a car & go for a hearty lunch closeby to the hotel we were going to stay in the next 3 days. We ended up in Laman Ria which is just opposite Meritus. This place is famous for their tiger prawn in butter. OMG! It was huge! Not cheap but man it was amazing… RM75 just for 2 prawns but it was hugeeeeee…. the chilli crab was good, not fantastic but good. The sea bass for the benefit of the little monster was decently well done. It was a seabass that kept on giving. There was so much meat we were wondering when we are gonna finish it. Total damage for 1st lunch in Langkawi = rm130++. Did i mention i had my 1st cheap ass beer too!

While it was a short flight it was still not a smooth 1 as our little monster gets restless really fast. So after a good meal and some wait time due to rain we drove across the road to our hotel. It was about 2pm then which in our calculated timing was perfect for checking in. However Murphy decides that it was not our call on when to check in. Bloody hotel made us wait more than 1 hour to get our room ready. I made quite a fuss with the hotel manager and she didn’t even apologize for their FUBAR. Her excuse was that guest occupying our room hasn’t left yet. Err… hello 12pm is official check out time 4 guest. Doesn’t bloody take you 2 hours 2 prepare a room even after late check out! That really killed like half of what was left of daylight for the day. Really got us all worked up for nothing. 5 star hotel my fat ass! I am reminded why i don’t like beach holidays. A regular city hotel would’ve upgraded us in a blink. Oh noooo…. Meritus can’t be bothered to pacify their guest at all. Luckily after that over all stay was decent but hey, first impressions count for something. Wife is writing a nasty post on tripadvisor!

Most of the time in the hotel was spent either in the bath tub or the swimming pool. Bath tub coz we don’t have one at home and he loves to fake swim coz its shallow. In the swimming pool he only likes to splash water and see people come down the slide. He did it once and after that everytime i asked if he wanted, he said NO! Perhaps him coming down spinning like a top had to do with him not wanting to try that again. I so need to make my son grow a pair stat!

There was a lot of rain going on in Langkawi, hazards of going to beach resorts during rainy season i suppose. Oh well i’m not much of a beach person so it was ok so long i get to drink cheap beer and eat tons of chox!

If i were to stay & work in Langkawi, confirm i will be a drunk every fricking day! Its cheaper than fruit juices OK! I was spoilt for choices. I consumed more beer in 3 days than i did in a year or maybe 2 even.

Got Shane his own Oakley-wannabe as he keeps asking me & Audrey for ours. Mind u this was taken at night… vain kid, he is.

That’s it 4 day 1. Because of the late check in and rain we didn’t manage to do much on the 1st day. We drove to Kuah town at night for some duty free shopping & dinner. Can u feel God in a church?

I know i have not been the best of Christians in a long long time. But whose counting rite? What i can’t stand is people who think that just by going to church makes you some kind of better person than others who don’t.

I get annoyed when they throw guilt trips at you like its some sort of crime that i don’t go 2 church regularly. I don’t think just by going to church you can only find God. Sure the speaker might be good and convince the hell out of you to be a better person, but that never last more than after 2 Sundays when we all drop back into our routine and just get on with life.

I have certain principles in place that make me do NO evil… well not as much, becoz of how i was influenced in church from long time ago. But to hear people say that they can feel god in 1 church and not in another is honestly full of shit. Sure certain churches have more politics than others. Some will suit a certain mind-sets and in time it might not suit yours as you begin to have different expectations and view on life. That don’t mean there was God in that church or not to start with. When one says they can or can’t feel God in church only means 1 sad thing. You can’t get along with how this church conducts their beliefs on an overall basis.

A few things lead to this, your priorities and on set of maturity has given you a different opinion of how things are done in a church. When you are a kid going to church with your parents, you just instinctively listen and in time, obey what everyone tells you which is right and wrong. But when u get older, start going to college, have a job and begin to explore your sexuality, suddenly all that has been hammered into your head suddenly doesn’t sound so convincing or attractive anymore.

Sure there are exceptions to the rule as if you are bred & born in 1 church and been taking orders and obeying what people taught you your whole life, you might be more far more obedient but there are people, like me, who question not just the faith but the people who follow it and put obstacles in front of you for personal/church interest.

It has become a human interest how churches are run these days. People start worshiping the elders and pastors of their church more than God himself. That i believe is a twisted form of obedience that is cultivated through intentional or unintentional conditioning. A lot of Christians also stray/leave churches because of not their lack of faith in God but the bad examples the people that run the church make them detest being in that church at all. Its something a lot of people feel but mostly won’t talk about, its far easier to just blame it on ‘not feeling God in the church’ excuse. It somehow sits better than resorting to bickering about how they can’t get along with their fellow brothers of sisters.

Yet another totally unfounded opinion from me base on my personal experience and not concrete proof whatsoever. If you agree with my opinions and go to hell with me, it’s not my fault you too stupid to think for yourself m’kay?

Children are not insurance policies

I know I am not suppose to be judgmental about the reasons for couples’ reason for having a child but I can’t help but feel disgusted to find out that some actually have a child so that they can secure their retirement plans. Some even have way more terrible reasons to pop 1 out. 1 I read recently one was so that the child can be the ailing sibling’s spare part donor. What the hell is wrong with you people!

I know some couple who just want to have a child to love and provide but are struck out of luck due to health reasons or other factors. And there are that certain kinds that can pop 1 out like eggs from a hen. Oh! My kid died? Don’t fret; I’ll pop a few out in no time to replace it.

Ok granted it was quite easy for us to have Shane, in the sense when we decided it was time we explored the concept of being parents. Setting out minds to it took only 1 try so we have been very blessed to not have to work that hard for it. Although I must say there is no harm in the constant practice also.

I think it’s mostly a Chinese mentality (do correct me if I am wrong) that children are their retirement plan. Once they reach a certain age where they are finally working, it is deemed necessary to provide for the parents and some to the point of funding the younger sibling’s education endeavors as well. I feel it is a very selfish and unfair burden to pass on to your children. You can’t afford to send all your kids to higher education, don’t fricking have so many kids then!

What kind of love do you extend to your child if you have to pass on a life of debt to them? They did not ask to be born in the first place. Our children should never be responsible for our actions. We as parents should take a bit more responsibility to ensure our old age is taken care of without giving our beloved children the burden of having to put their lives on hold so they can to attend to our irresponsible living in the past. Audrey & I intend to never inconvenience Shane once he grows up and makes his own way in the world. My gratification is only to make sure my son grows up to be a person responsible for his own actions and be a decent normal human being.

Shame on you couples who look at children as a means to provide a better life for yourselves in the future. I know my views are futile in changing the way people think but I feel the need to at least put this in writing and hopefully someone stumbles on this and change just 1 person’s perception of the reason for having a child. It would have been worth my 30mins crafting this.

I won’t hide the fact that I do think you are a huge asshole if you think about yourselves first and foremost when having children. This is why the world is evolving to shit; coz people like you love yourselves so much that you forget that there are things in motion in this world that is bigger than you. You child could be the person who finds the cure for cancer, end poverty or even be the agent of world peace, but because he is busy making money to fund your retirement welfare he has to adhere to filial piety he’s got to put all that aside. Ok I exaggerate but you get my idea. Last thing I want to be is an obstacle in my son reaching his potential.

I must say I am glad my parents have the same opinion as me so I am not burdened by them as well. My parents are self sufficient to not need my contribution to secure a comfortable retirement life. I know I speak without understanding how poverty stricken folk deal with this but this is for the middle income group who can, this is my advice. Actually I know it’s brutal but if you can’t afford a child, please don’t have one. Why bring one into poverty even. No the answer is not so we can have people to clean our roads and build our houses. That’s bullshit ok; we can end children suffering by just not being so damn irresponsible where we stick our dicks.

At the same time I do want to see if my views are that flawed that I need correction. Agree or disagree, give me your views as a parent, single person who is supporting parents, or just kepo.

Holy moly its end of the year!

Has it really been that long? Shane’s turning 4 next year and i’m actually attempting to get back to blogging.

So far i’ve been extremely lazy as i have yet to think of things i wanna talk about. Nothing new there. Most of the stuff would involve my son i guess, tons of women r blogging about children already so why the hell am i doing this as well? oh ya… of coz, my son is naturally the best & worst kid in the whole wide world all rolled into 1.

I’ve got a few things charted out for the next year or so to achieve so hopefully it will happen. Am not gonna say it out loud n jinx it but if you follow closely you might guess what i’m trying to achieve. But no gurantees, u know how fickle i am. 1 thing i am attempting to achieve here is to tone down on my vulgarities. Please read the word attempt properly coz cursing like a butcher has been my forte 4 yonx, so its gonna be hard not to get annoyed and start cussing like a sailor… butcher… whichever.

Ok till i gather more of my thoughts this has technically been the 1st post in the comeback… phew finally got that shit settled… DOH! cuss already pukimak… DOH! yet again!

Moving back in

Hey all! I’m back… wow has it been that long? To be honest it felt longer! I dunno what compelled me to come back in a start posting again. Hell i don’t even know who lurks here. My stats still show there r visits from phantoms. damn spammers! LOL Oh well gonna give this another try and see if it sticks. if not… well back to doing other stuff. stay tuned, will update soon on a proper post. this is just a warning, i’m back n i might be worse than before!

Moving on …

I’ve never been good at this whole blogging thing… so i’ve decided to move my thoughts to facebook…. i love typing on notes instead of a blog… but then again… u fuckers here are already reading my shit on FB… so it’s not something new… just for the fuckwits who stumble on my blog 4 gawd knows wat reason. At least now you can’t read my shit unless u know me… muahahaha.. er… unless ur a friend of my friend… then mebbe can see also…

HELL YEAH!

All i can say is by gawd it wasn’t as dirty an election as i expected it. If it was the opposition would never score those kinda wins. U gotta give the gov credit for at least allowing democracy to work. There might be long term repercussions that we can’t see for electing the opposition but for now celebrate the fact that the nation has pair of fresh hands to mold with.

Having said that 4 years might not be enough to make a real change in the country and that scares me to think that people might be expecting a miracle with the new pple in power. So if the people don’t see change in 4 years are we gonna vote back those that seem to have a grasp of the game? I say hold your horses, keep in mind that the new pple have a whole load of shit to clear out before any real change can take place. Not to mention the opposition are made of a band of uncomfortable bedfellows. Ideals are all over the place and orchestrating a unified governance is but just the tip of the iceberg of shit they will have to come to terms with.

By a long shot this is not a win … this perhaps is more a step in the right direction in getting the voice of the people heard and let this pple make the change we as the nation so wants 2 see happen. What is that change? Your guess is as good as mine. Maturity in the thought process of good governance is a start perhaps. With that perhaps things will fall into better place. Here’s to the cynic’s hope that things will work out

6 years + 2 days and counting…

That is how long I’ve been officially married to Audrey. While some would expect to read a blog about how much I love my wife and all that shit ass mushy stuff, to me is just public declaration to make one look good and the good husbandly thing to do. However, I am not such a person. I am flawed as fuck. So it’s already amazing that she still steadfast and loyal to me.

What I really want to talk about is the effect it has on me. A friend just wished me happy anniversary and asked me how I felt after 6 years of marriage. Without much thought, the first thing that came to mind was ‘very humbling’. She couldn’t agree more. So I told Audrey about it. First thing she asked me was ‘Why so humbling?’ Well it has been humbling because I have bared my soul to this person, she knows all my weaknesses and flaws and yet she stands by me through thick & thin. She helps me make amazing decisions that enrich our lives and keep the family stable. She is not just my wife she is a great friend that will not hesitate to gets her hands dirty to fix something that I might’ve screwed up. So yeah… humbling is definitely the word to use. After having her by my side for so long I find myself in a position where I am amazed at how I have stayed afloat for so long without her in my life.

So anyways… we had a fantastic weekend of just eating our hearts out to celebrate 6 roller coaster years of fun and tears. We had CPK for Saturday lunch we shared this amazing green curry chicken pasta & wild mushroom pizza that was just too awesome for words. For dinner we went to Pasta Zanmai this Jap Italiano fusion place that has become our latest favorite haunt. I had the Hamburg set that made my toes curl and Audrey had Beef Katsu curry rice. The next day we went Lemon garden at Shangri-la for buffet and pigged out big time. However on a slightly sour note I think I ate a bad fruit or something so I had a bit of the runs after that. But after popping some Chinese miracle pills (poh chai yuen) we were off to Nagomi for some shabu-shabu loving. I had duck while Audrey had chicken. Yes it’s all about food for our family and that is how we celebrate such amazing events in our lives.

Did I forget to mention we had Shane with us the entire time? It is not our intention to leave our son out of anything. Since our lives do revolve around him, he has been a very good boy by sleeping through the past couple of nights. What a nice gesture from him to us.

Good riddance 2007

I’m actually quite glad the year is over… it’s been a roller coaster ride for the whole family. I’ve changed jobs twice in a span of a year just to name one instance. However in total it hasn’t been that bad of a year… i’m fortunate to have a great family and my son is getting older by the day and it is a magical experience on a daily basis. A part of me can’t wait for him 2 grow older… another part of me wishes he remains that sweet adorable boy i love so much … but we all know that it is an illusion … he’s after all monster boy. Yeah, he’s graduated to monster boy from little monster.

I suck at this whole blogging thing… i seriously rather be on FB and specifically warbook … it’s the perfect neverending game i have been dreaming of. Beings me back to the days of BBS door games. I love wacking pple n cursing at pple who attack me… suckers i tell ya. With that said, i still will try n check in here once in a long while just to post things up. I know the pix are a bit out-dated… my fault… haven’t really been in the mood to resize the pix. But they are all there… just not up… hahaha catch me one of this days la… i will update it to current… think should be in the next week or so. I just reformatted my work laptop so i’m without photoshop… lemme see where i can score me a copy. lol!

Ok… happy new year everyone… can’t think of anything worthy to blog about… as usual. Have a safe one… n thanx again for the love everyone gives us as a family.
